21 January - The Longest Rock and Roll

Very rock n rolling night

A couple of times there was a big rock and a few things went flying

Linda got up in the night to go to the toilet. Got there and back no trouble but suddenly the boat lurched and Linda went flying and twisted her left knee.

Once Heidi woke she went in search of ice for Linda's knee.

A couple of announcements, breakfast was being delayed, and don’t use the vacuum toilets.

Dave came around to everyone’s cabin to check if things were OK and gave everyone a packet of crackers to sustain us until a meal could be served

Ended up that no meals were served in the dining room however they did bring around boiled eggs for everyone and then later on food -  bread, cheese ham, and eggs - was taken up to the bar for people to come and get.

We stayed in our cabin as we had been asked to but we hadn’t realized that there was a time when films were being shown. We missed seeing Round the Cape but we got to see it afterwards. We then watched Master and Commander.

The rest of the time was spent in the cabin - every now and again getting food and nibbles from the Lounge.

The Dr came and bandaged Linda’s knee

Heidi saw a dolphin while looking out to sea beside the boat so then went out to the back of the boat to photograph birds.

Is it a whale ... is it a bird ... ;)

As the swell died down we all met up in the lounge for drinks and thank you’s all round. Dave played the slide show of images he had selected from the trip

A late but very welcome dinner (Pumpkin and mushroom risotto and salmon and vegies) followed by paying our account then watched the pilot be dropped off and go into the bridge.

Went into the lounge to deposit gratuities and feedback forms. Quite a few people were up in the lounge making the most of the last night aboard.

Goodnight to the bridge...

Dr Andris original on the wall beside the bridge!
