Day 5 Iguazu Falls

We had a 'half day' tour booked for today, to visit the Argentinian side of the falls.

Very little of our words would describe the awesome sights and sounds that we experienced!

Our photos also do not fully display what you experience in person .. but we tried, and chose a few of our favourites of the many that we took!

Emanuel was our guide who took us first on the loop that went over the top of the falls - explaining that the large floods a couple of years ago wiped out the walkway that would take us over the Devil's Throat. Little did we realise what in fact was below us.

Some of the walk went through rainforest and we all thought that we could almost be walking though an Australian rainforest.

After the exhausting hot walk we rested while the Couties ran underneath scavenging and Emanuel told us about Mate and the ritual they have had since the land was only occupied by the indigenous population. They 3/4 fill their pots with the Yerba Mate tea and then poor hot water over it - topping it up as they drink it. They then drink it through a strainer staw.

Next we experienced the awesome falls from below along another loop walk - a little more shade but still just as hot and exhausting.

Took a photo of this sign as Heidi tripped on the walkway and landed on her knees to save her camera - knees are healed with very little bruising after just a couple of days.

Finishing the tour with a lunch then returned to the Hotel for a rest and a search for a Laundry that would have our clothes washed before we departed the next day for Ushuaia.

We finished the day off with a free welcome drink at Saras Bar and dinner.
