Day 8 - Heidi's B'Day Tierra Del Fuego
At the start of the day, we had a pseudo birthday cake - using the candle that Linda had bought - which they lit at breakfast then sang and clapped to Heidi.
The snow had mostly gone from the mountains that we could see from our hotel.
We walked down to the Ushuaia sign for a photo and right beside it there was a man in a white van selling souvenirs and he graciously took our photo - we then happily bought souvenirs from him.
We had arranged to meet up again with Dave at Ramos Generales where we had drinks of fresh squeezed juice and tea.
We then headed to the depot to buy tickets for the shuttle bus to the National Park.
After leaving Ushuaia we travelled quite a way along a rough dirt Road out to the National Park.
The driver was insisting that we should get off at the first stop and walk from there but we all wanted to go to stop 2 so that could go to the Visitor centre and walk from there.
We brought with us another lunch from the Vegan place that we had bought earlier in the day so sat on the peaceful lake shore to eat it.
Belated Happy birthday Heidi. What a fabulous way to celebrate birthday - visiting such beautiful place. Lovely photos!
